Even the owner of Plentyoffish.com, who makes around $300,000/mo, still only equals about $10,000/day, or $400 some odd dollars per hour. No one on Adsense makes $5,000 an hour. If you can make $5,000 a day, that is still really good. That is more of an accomplishable result with Adsense.
After being in the industry for 5 years, I make no where close to that. I own, or own a share of, over 100 websites, and we build at least one new site every week. But even with that many sites being built, the truth is it takes time for Google to index new sites and to start making money.
If I had focused all my time onto one specific website instead of multiple, I still doubt I would make anywhere close to $5,000/day. To have a successful website, you have to spend time every day building the content. The site you are building has to have low competition in order to rank well, and the content you're writing has to be good content.
Even if all these requirements are met, you still may make no money online. The truth of the matter is you have to learn from someone who knows what they're doing. Yes, I read a book when I got started; but I also had help from industry leaders and experts to get going. They provided me with ideas, and I had to use my own tools to find a good niche market to get started in. Even then I didn't make a serious income for the first year.
