Iran has stated more then one that they wish to "erase the regime in Israel." Furthermore, they are testing nuclear weapons. Recently they told the world their "missile test" was only for purposes of peace.
There is never peace involved when a country is producing nuclear weapons. The thing is, people can say whatever they want. But Israel is not in the middle east to start fights, or fire off nuclear weapons. Israel has had nuclear weapons for a very long time, and have never even spoke of using them. Iran on the other hand currently has thousands of centrifuges producing enriched uranium. Radioactive gas is stored in tunnels; in Arak a heavy water reactor produces plutonium.
This news show was so terrible. You had one woman on the show who is some kind of scholar, really she was a moron. You had one of Israel's defense ministers who is trying to tell these people, Israel is not the aggressor. Israel wishes to live in peace. They are threatened by Iran because Iran is becoming powerful and have stated they wish to get rid of Israel. If they were to do that, or try, it would destabilize the whole area. Israel is one of the strongest powers in the middle east that keeps others in line. Dumbass scholar woman probably doesn't realize if there's no Israel, or no strong Israel to keep neighboring places safe, they would all be consumed by Iran. Egypt, Lebannon and Syria all depend upon Israel like Canada depends upon the US to defend us.
To top things off they had some Iran reporter on the show, reporting from Iran. He tried to say that Israel "is a terrorist state," because they are asking the US to allow their bombers to hit nuclear targets. Furthermore, by allowing Israel to fly through Iraqi airspace, the woman said that Israel would be "breaking international law."
The Israeli defense minister could barely get words in edgewise. Which is always the case. He got to say a few things but for the most part, the woman talked about Israel stepping out and doing nothing (yeah really smart). Then the Iranian decided to say Israel is "an apartheid state" and "is racist."
That's not a very nice thing to say about a country full of Jews. 6 million of us were exterminated some 60 years ago, listening to douchebags like that. He has no right or reason to say what "Israel is like." Iran are the ones that train terrorists that go into Iraq and other neighboring countries dressed in our uniforms, kidnapping American soldiers and slicing their heads off on film. There has been at least one documented attack like this in the last 6 months where Iranian soldiers, trained and dressed like Americans come across the border, sneak attack our guys, kidnap some and then flee back to Iran.
Iran is certainly the aggressor here. If Israel has to put down their nuclear program by firing some missiles at it, then Israel has to do what Israel has to do. I get really annoyed by these "experts" saying the nuclear fallout would be devastating and how it would impact the middle east. Israel isn't the one dropping nukes and firing off missiles for tests, is it? Iran is. And everyone knows the leadership in Iran right now is so extremist that they would carry out a nuclear attack once they get the technology perfected. We can't wait for that to happen. The United States, like most other battles they have fought, like Vietnam, expect Israel to wait, and wait, and wait for Iran to fire off their test warheads, then get it right and bomb Israel with a nuke. Israel has enough problems to worry about as it is. And unless you live there, and saw the SCUD missiles that used to hit many towns and cities from Hamas (and they got the SCUDS from Iran) then you have no right to say anything about the situation whatsoever. Israel is not the one who is dropping nukes. Israel needs to take out Iran's nuclear capability. Iran has the option of disarming or facing the music; and it wouldn't matter if Iran was some other country and Israel was the US. The US would bomb them too. Hell, they wouldn't even ask for permission, and we all know it.
