This is something we are beginning to see more and more online. I'm not sure whether Adsense has flipped a switch which says how much I can make on my account, but I have statistically doubled my traffic this summer and have not increased my revenues on Adsense. I usually make a killing in the summer as I have a seasonal website. More people are interested in purchasing the products I offer in the summer time - let's just say the site is about air conditioning. So of course in the summer, traffic is up, and revenues are up, too.
Well, usually, anyways. This summer I'll have an up day here and there where I will do + 25% in revenue, then slip back down to my normal income. There's gotta be some switch where Google is because I have been doing 2x as much traffic this summer then in most months.
One way I have been able to generate more revenue (slightly) is with Chitika. Chitika is nice because the PPC values are constant. With Google, one click can be 0.50 one day and 0.10 the next day. But with Chitika, you are generally averaging 5 - 10 cents a click on every click. You might not get as much as Google on a per click basis, but it's good to know that an increase in traffic with Chitika brings an increase in revenue.
More then likely, we will start diversifying soon by selling ad space or the like. I am still looking into the possibilities but if you have a good program you would like to recommend for generating revenue online, no matter what it may be (Pay per click, pay per lead or other) please submit it to mark@coolsitecreators.com
